There is also an Amtrak station located in Harrisburg.

Will I be able to purchase tickets at the door?
No. Tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be available for purchase at the door. No refunds.

Is this an all ages event?
No. This event is ages 21+ ONLY. ID will be checked at the entrance. Please be sure to register with your legal name in order to prevent registration issues. (If you are a member of the Nobility or the Royal Court, you will be contacted for your character name to be announced by the herald on the red carpet during the Grand Entry.)

Are costumes required?
Yes. Costumes fitting the theme of the Kushiel series of books are required. Modern casual clothing is NOT acceptable. Imaginative costumes are highly recommended.

Theme appropriate costumes are required to fit with the intention of recreating how The Longest Night Masque is described the books. Modern street clothing, including three piece suits, is not considered a costume. I doubt that a man wearing a modern looking suit or tuxedo would look like he belonged in the room. Basically, if you would fit in at a Renn Faire or any of the cultures discussed in the books (there are many options here). Examples include Greek mythological figures or representations of the seasons. For women, most formal gowns are timeless if you choose that instead of a costume. Since men have fewer options, having a slightly steampunk edge would acceptable, but keep in mind that many modern steampunk accessories would not have existed in Medieval times, so futuristic items should be avoided. You can see costumes worn at the 2016 event on our Gallery Page.

If you are already part of a Night Court House and plan to participate in the house costume contest, that will influence the type of costume that would be best for you. Please check with your head of household for their selected theme.

You can choose to be a member of one of the 13 Houses of the Night Court of Blooming Flowers but this is not required. Please note that only house members dressed according to the selected costume theme are eligible to compete in the House Costume Contest.
